A man was rushed to hospital following reports of gunfire in east London last night.
Emergency services were called to Suffolk Road, near Canning Town in Newham, just after 8.30pm after reports of a shooting.
A trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance attended, along with an incident response officer, a medic in a response car and an ambulance crew.
The victim suffered facial injuries, but is not seriously injured.
He was treated at the scene before being taken by road to a major trauma centre.
No arrests have been made, but police are investigating the incident.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: ‘We were called at 8:37pm on 19 June to Suffolk Road, Newham, E13, to reports of a shooting.
‘We sent an incident response officer, a medic in a response car and an ambulance crew. We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance.
‘Crews treated a person at the scene and took them by road to a major trauma centre.’
A Metropolitian Police spokesman said: ‘Police were called to Suffolk Road, E13 at 20:35hrs on Friday, 19 June following a report of the sound of a gunshot.
‘Officers, including firearms officers, attended the scene and a man was suffering facial injuries, he is not seriously injured.
‘No arrests; enquiries continue.’
